Content Diffing
Use opencx content diff to see what has changed between your local content and the remote help center.
Usage
bash
opencx content diff
Change Types
The diff output categorizes changes into four types:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
added | New categories or articles that exist locally but not remotely |
modified | Existing content with field-level changes |
removed | Content that exists remotely but was deleted locally |
moved | Articles moved between categories |
Field-Level Tracking
The diff tracks changes at the field level, not just the file level.
Article fields: title, content_markdown, meta_title, meta_description
Category fields: name, description, icon
This means you can see exactly which fields changed in each article or category.
Flags
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
--json | Output diff results as JSON |
Exit Codes
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
0 | No changes detected |
1 | Changes exist |
Exit code 1 when changes exist makes opencx content diff useful in CI pipelines as a gate check:
bash
opencx content diff || echo "Content has uncommitted changes"
